About Dr. Angela Leone, DC

Dr. Angela Leone hadn't planned on becoming a chiropractor, but had grown up knowing that she'd like to have a career in which she could help people in some way. Dr. Leone was born in Bayonne, N.J., but her family moved to Brevard County when she was still in school. She graduated from Titusville High School where she met her high school sweetheart and future husband, John.

John is also involved in health care as a massage therapist and acupuncturist. They were married fourteen years. While Dr. Leone was in high school, her father strained his back at work and decided to see a chiropractor to relieve the pain. Since Dr. Leone was very athletic and active herself, the type of work chiropractors do intrigued her. "I knew I'd like to do something in the medical field, but I wanted to do something that gave patients an alternative to prescription medications and surgery," Dr. Leone explained. "Chiropractic care allows a doctor to treat the patient as a whole and keep them functioning and active while receiving treatment."

Dr. Leone holds a B.S. degree from the University of the State of New York, she also attended the New York Chiropractic College for one year. But she longed for warmer weather and better job opportunities, so she and John moved to Texas where she graduated from the Texas Chiropractic College. Moving from New York to Texas was their honeymoon. Dr. Leone received her Doctorate Degree in 1996 and was licensed to practice in the state of Florida the following year.

Throughout her college career, Dr. Leone welcomed every opportunity to increase her medical knowledge to prepare her for any situation. She completed a research manuscript that was published in the Journal of Manipulative Physiological Therapy. The manuscript was written about various techniques chiropractors can use on their patients. After chiropractic school, Dr. Leone went to medical school in the Dominican Republic for four months and worked in a hospital where she was able to assist with many of the medical procedures performed there. "My experience in the Dominican Republic allowed me to gain exposure to traditional medicine, giving me more knowledge to share with my patients," Dr. Leone said. Since then, Dr. Leone has worked with athletes of all ages and levels of ability to give them a competitive edge by maximizing their sports performance. She also worked at multi-specialty clinics where she coordinated patients' care with other healthcare providers. Now she brings her wealth of knowledge and experience to Gainesville MedSpa, where she has been clinical director for three years.

"Brevard Healthworx is the only healthcare office I've ever seen that has a determined strategy and a formula for success," Dr. Leone explained. "I could tell Brevard Healthworx was different from the beginning."

"Our philosophy is to make every single patient a priority, helping him or her in a very caring way and working around their busy schedules to provide them with the superior care they deserve."
